3. I also refuse to convince myself that the least I can do is to SHOW my sympathy to Gaza. Because, First, they're not looking. Second, to whom I'm showing it, my facebook friend list?
4. I won't use Gaza to feel good about myself. I won't use Gaza or any other thing to feel generous, good or patriotic. I won't use Gaza to live in that beautiful melodramatic state that I enjoy very much. I won't use Gaza as blindfold to overlook the things that I can fix around me right here right now, pretending to have a bigger issue to think about.
5. I'm not surprised and I wonder why everyone is acting as if in shock, it has always been the case. This struggle has been going on for 60 years now. People in shock are people who forgot and people who forget are not people who REALLY care.
6. I can't provide what I don't have. In Gaza people are facing an inhumane situation and in our countries we're treated inhumanely on a daily basis. I'd really love to have my humanity back before I can try to provide it to others.
7. I'm not an occasional person. I'm sick of people being occasionally patriots, occasionally good, occasionally caring. I'm sick of people with short memory who are patriots as long as there's Gaza on TV and once this is over they're back to the same old people they were.
8. I don't believe there's such a thing as supporting a place or a person, the only thing that's supportable is an ideal, a principle and showing that support is by becoming a man/woman of principle and not by mottoes, statuses, groups, boycotting, articles. If you support Humanity, be humane. If you support Justice, be just. If you support Courage, be a man.
9. I don't care about Gaza because there are 6 million children under the age of 5 who die out of Hunger each year and nobody gives a damn about them, so if I'm gonna care about something, I'll care about them, they can use a signature or two, don't they? People are being treated inhumanely everyday everywhere. I'm sure if you go on a little walk around your neighborhood, you'll find more than one case that you can call inhumane and where you actually CAN help.
10. I don't care about Gaza because noone, I know, really cares,
If you're REALLY patriots, you'll be willing to die for what you "believe in" and I bet that 90% at least of the people pretending to be patriots, if they were called to fight in a war against Israel, they'll start looking for their mom's second cousin who can get them an excuse from their military service (in case they didn't already)
If you REALLY care about Humanity, you'd care about hungry children as much as people tortured in the nearest prison as much as people killed in terrorist attacks as much as people who are suppressed by their countries' regimes. These are all people worth your empathy. And not only the people who get the most Media attention and I'm sure these people are millions not hundreds.
If you're REALLY Generous you'd sell everything you have to help. If you're really generous you'd try to give what's hard for you to give, not just giving that extra 100 pounds that are already laying there in your wallet while you're driving you're 80,000 pounds worth car. Don't fool yourselves by saying you're doing the best you can do, because if you REALLY care, you can do better.
The best I can do for Gaza is to fix myself, try to fix what's around me and hope that one day I'm strong enough to help. Until then, I don't care.
